The Ball: A Rollin'; The Times: A Changin'

With a fantastically geniune (genuinely fantastic at very least) by are own Bartelby Da Scrivna (or whatever), we're now having fun. See below.

But first, as with all great things, we need a theme song. I'm thinking the attitude of a balls-out "Suicide is Painless" to the visual track of Perfect Strangers. Here are the lyrics. I played the song into Mike's celly, do check it out. See the comments page for guitar chords. Seriously.

The Summer of Kevin
With blank head
With an elevator curl
With a blank check
And an axxxidental perm

Writing post cards
Placing long distance calls
Makin’ money
Breaking all kinds of walls

Manifestos
Of ignorance and vice
Alibis
Blacking out our night

It was the Summer of Kevin

I hope you come along today
On our happy holiday
And won’t you come and sing with me
We’ll wrestle to the ground

It was the Summer of Kevin
Sha Na Na Na

Sam and I are hard at work trying to figure out how to upload the Summer of Kevin theme song from my voicemail onto my ipod for everyone's listening enjoyment.
Folks, when you're mowing your lawn, grilling bratwursts out on the free range, cooling your genitals in the kiddie pool or simply sprawled out incapacitated on a rooftop on Avenue B, sing the Summer of Kevin song, hum it to yourself, tell a friend, join hands, practice harmonies. Tis Glorious!

Phew! I'm glad the song and its ethos are appreciated. I think it started out about Carrot Top, worked its way to Larry Appleton and finally landed on me, the bridge that connects them. Push it real good.

Remember, children, that we here at the Summer of Kevin are uniters, not dividers, and thus are not just advocating a Kevin-centric summer, but pushing toward the horizon of a new gangbusters technicolor reality.

And Marc, welcome to the WWW. Glad you surfed this way. I haven't given you the road-tested SoK speech, but i'm sure you can gather its tenets. I will soon have much musings on His Tweedness. The best life will leave our lungs.

Positively,
Namesake.
